パーティションに座る。

This chair can be approached from either side to sit on. As a space divider that is made to be interacted with, this chair is simply a fun way to expand the ways in which you can commune with those around you. Made of a simple-looking stretchy fabric, movement on one side of the wall affects occupants on either side. The way the fabric conforms to the body when someone sits down means that a cocoon-like feeling of comfort can be experienced in any position. When sitting down to chat with a friend or co-worker, whether on the same side or not, a feeling of connection is automatically encountered.

まず、この椅子は２方向から着席することが出来ます。もともとはこちら側と向こう側の相互に作用するような空間パーティションを考えていました。この発想を巡らせていく中で、気持ちを楽しく通わせること出来るのような椅子をつくれないかと考え始めました。構造をシンプルにしながら、伸縮性のある布地を用いることで、片方が動くと、それは同時に反対側も動くということを意味しています。この布地の伸縮的な動き方によって、腰掛けると繭のように心地よい感触に包まれます。こちら側か向こう側、どちらに座るかによって、お互いを関係付けることが出来ます。
