錯覚を起こす本棚とその機能。

Art piece? Functional furniture? This piece does both with panache. And since you are staring into space anyways, might as well challenge ye old brain to think in more than 2D with this awesome bookcase. Every time I look at it, I can’t help taking a second and third look. Sometimes a fourth and fifth look because it’s fascinating how a simple structure like this can continually play tricks with your eyesight. According to the designer, these shelves are supposed to simulate the way your mind stores language concept information. In other words, a simple word or shape has more meaning or depth than what is used to store them. One example that the designer uses is the word `cornfield` The word is simple but the concept you store in your memory is quite detailed. このプロダクトが、アートであるのか機能的家具であるのかは見ただけでは到底判りませんが、とても華麗な家具であることに間違いありません。誰しもしばしば、ボーっとすることがありますが、そんな時にもこの家具を見るたびに頭が冴えるはずです。２度見してしまうのも無理は無いでしょう。人によっては４度見、５度見してしまうんじゃないでしょうか。シンプルな構造でありながら、錯覚を起こす。デザイナーによると、この本棚は「言語を習得するときのように貯蔵する」ようです。つまり「ただの言葉」とこの「本棚の深さ（奥行き）」は見るだけでは分かりません。例えば「トウモロシ畑」のように。言葉は簡単だけどその言葉の概念は複雑。言葉の「立ち振る舞い」のように、この本棚の単純な形の影で、深い思いを知ることが出来ます。
